TESU is a great school for working Adults, Military and anyone who has the ability to work without a lot of instruction. Basically This is a great online program. I do not recommend it to anyone that has a problem with online schools, this school is not for you, however if you are a person that can accomplish a task with out someone holding your hand all the way through the process, you will do well here. The Mentors will assist you in anyway they can, but again they are not going to spoon feed you... Read More the assignments. I completed my AA, BS, MSM, and now my DBA all here at TESU. I am not what I consider a great student, but I am hard working and I put my mind and heart in everything I do, and when I asked my mentors for guidance or assistance I got good sound feed back each and evetime. I received an Associates degree in Applied Health Sciences and later a Bachelors degree in Math and Science from Thomas Edison University. I took classes across the entire spectrum with Thomas Edison, classes in mathematics, statistics, Psychology, English Comp, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Ethics, Philosophy Microbiology etc... I can say that I have an advanced experience on what their class offerings are and the good and bad of them as an institution. I have worked full time the entire time... Read More I attended their school, my career field in the military was extremely challenging and demanded a lot of my time, I also had 4 kids at home making any time I had spare. Thomas Edison is absolutely a school where you get what you put into it, you have to read your course work, you have to go through the books, and do research to be successful. Mathematics and Chemistry are a real challenge online, you have to really grind when it comes to advanced math. If you work hard you will graduate and get a decent GPA, I am leaving TESU soon for a graduate program next in Heath care administration and public health. I recommend TESU to people, it is a demanding school but you can definitely learn a lot from them.

I have my AA from community college and wanted to finished by BA with the intention of moving on to grad school when my kids were older. I am now concerned that I won't get accepted with a "degree" from a bs school like this. The mentors, when they do bother interacting, have no input as to the syllabus, course content, or tests. Many of them aren't even the ones who grade the tests. They are not, by school policy, allowed to assign extra credit, which is unfortunate, because good luck passing any... Read More of the midterms. The study guides, when they exist, do not reflect the questions on the test. The assignments are mostly "busy work", some of them remind me of the assignments my 8th grade daughter is doing. I have 2 children, one of whom is about to go to college herself, and I thought this would be a good fit for me, as it was affordable and offered flexibility for my schedule. Unfortunately, in this case, "you get what you pay for" doesn't cut it, because even at it's relatively low cost, this place is a ripoff. As I frequently drive through Trenton, however, I can't help but notice all the new "school" buildings they've been putting up- for what?! To my knowledge there are no in-person classes, and they wouldn't even allow me to take my tests on campus, citing Covid restrictions. Instead they make you use a proctoring service that essentially requires you to download spyware on your computer while a stranger watches you take your exam through your webcam. I don't even want to know what the salaries of the "administration" of the school look like. I wish I could say better things about this place, let's just say I'm not going to be bragging about my graduation this summer. This school may work for some people- if you really just want the piece of paper and don't care if you learn anything and have a high tolerance for ineptitude, go for it. If you're looking to deepen your knowledge, or move on to another level of education, I'd say save your money and stay away.

TESU is fine, leaning towards bad. When you take a Midterm/Final, you can't even see your results when you submit your exam. You can see your grade in the grade book, but you can't see how you answered or the correct answers. Also, the proctoring service required to take an exam makes you download spyware onto your computer. Additionally, the professor for a given course has no influence in creating the syllabus or assignments. They can't view any of the exams, so they can't answer any questions... Read More about exam questions. I change my mind, TESU is a bad college which is only getting worse since they accept less transfer credits now- the only reason to go there.

I enrolled at this college to complete the last 15 credits of my bachelors. The school itself was fine, I was only there because I needed my bachelors degree to practice my trade (completed at a different school) in New Jersey. I was not informed until after I completed 15 credits, and only received an E-mail after it was too late to sign up for more classes, that if you do not sign up for 16 credits minimum there is a residency requirement fee in which you have to pay $3,000 if you use less than... Not only was the person who I called to discuss the fee with extremely rude, the counselor who had helped me with the admissions process claimed she usually tells people about this but must have forgotten to mention it to me. The only way I would have known about this fee is if I read the hundreds of pages of course catalog, and even then I would have had to narrow in on one small paragraph which discusses the residency requirement fee. I wanted to write this review in case anyone else has a similar experience. If I had known about the fee I would have taken the one extra credit and saved myself thousands of dollars.

Now that I am done with my program, I can give an honest review. Just like others stated, if your just looking for an accredited degree to put on your resume then this is the way to go. I was going to get both my Associates and Bachelors, but I don’t think I can last another two years. Thankfully, TESU is accredited, and recognized by others colleges in NJ, so my Associates was accepted at Rutgers University and I will be finishing my bachelors with them 100% online as well. PRO:I like that a new... Read More semester start every month, so it makes it Quicker to finish the program . CON: you only get a week off before you start another semester. For me, that is not enough time . You will get burnt out quickly and I end up taking a few months off because I need time off so get a mental break. PRO:A lot of the mentors are VERY flexible with the late policy. I’ve submitted papers 1-2 weeks late with no penalties, long as I communicated beforehand. CON: Some of these mentors TAKE FOREVER to grade assignments. I mean how am I suppose to correct any problems I have, if I don’t the first one back until assignment 4. CON: Also, the content was extremely boring. Unless your a humanities major , the general education classes can be BORING and not interesting. I prefer projects over writing a paper every week. Which literally, it seems all the class are just papers and discussion forums. They just started adding PowerPoints which I throughly enjoyed because I’m the creative type. CON:They need to get rid of ProctorU, the worse proctoring service ever. I’m not comfortable with a live person staring at me, and it takes them FOREVER to set up. If your test is at 10:00am don’t expect to start until 10:30. Half the representatives don’t speak English well so be VERY PATIENT. CON: The study guides for the exams are horrible. Very Proud so your not sure what to focus on. Some instances, there were questions on the test that I didn’t recall even being in the study guide. Basically, you’ll have to memorize the entire book to pass :/

Not a great university. I had been to several colleges before Thomas Edison. The only things I liked about the school were the cost, the number of credits that could be transferred in and the fact that new classes begin every month. The quality of instruction was poor; my professors did not explain assignments even when asked and rarely provided feedback. The classes were brutal (expect lots of “busy” work). I did not feel like I learned anything at Thomas Edison that I could not read in a book. In my opinion, this college is a degree mill and should be treated as such. If you want to actually learn from your class materials and teachers and be in an engaging classroom, I highly recommend you go somewhere else. If you want a fast degree and don’t really care about education, this is the place for you.
